Louisville, KY – A quiet and cool stretch of weather will hold across central Kentucky and southern Indiana through Monday, but a wetter pattern is expected to return by Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Louisville. Light showers may develop tonight across parts of the Bluegrass region before skies turn dry for the remainder of the weekend.
According to NWS, temperatures will stay seasonable through Monday, with highs ranging from the mid-50s to upper 60s depending on location. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 30s and 40s, keeping mornings crisp but calm across cities including Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Frankfort, and Jasper, Indiana.
The bigger pattern shift arrives Tuesday when a round of unsettled weather moves into the region. Forecast models show rain chances increasing significantly by midweek, with several cities projected to see 50–70% precipitation probabilities between Tuesday and Friday. The wet pattern is expected to linger into next weekend as multiple disturbances move through the Ohio Valley.
While temperatures remain mild, the consistent moisture may impact commutes and outdoor plans later in the week. Louisville, Elizabethtown, Richmond, Madison, and surrounding communities should prepare for daily rain chances, especially Wednesday and Thursday, when confidence in widespread showers is highest.
No severe weather is currently expected, but NWS notes that changes in system timing could adjust rainfall totals. Updated forecasts will be issued as the new workweek begins.
Residents across central Kentucky and southern Indiana are encouraged to check for additional updates as the rain-producing pattern sets up on Tuesday.
