LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A stretch of comfortable fall weather is set to continue across central Kentucky through early next week, bringing mild afternoons and cool nights under mostly sunny skies. Afternoon highs will stay in the low to mid-70s, while overnight lows fall into the 40s, offering classic October conditions for outdoor plans.
According to the National Weather Service Louisville, high clouds will increase this evening, leading to partly cloudy skies overnight. The weekend stays dry with partly to mostly sunny conditions and highs from 71 to 78 degrees Saturday and Sunday. The agency says no rain is expected through at least Monday.
Drivers can expect smooth travel across I-64 and I-65 corridors, with good visibility and light winds. Gardeners should note that while no frost is expected, nighttime lows dipping into the mid-40s may chill more sensitive plants. Outdoor events, including fall festivals and high school football, should enjoy near-perfect conditions with light breezes and comfortable humidity.
The NWS adds that temperatures may trend slightly warmer early next week before a potential cool-down midweek. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the pleasant stretch for seasonal yardwork or hiking before colder air returns later in October.
