Louisville, KY – The weekend will wrap up on a warm and dry note across Kentucky before rain chances make a comeback early in the week, according to the National Weather Service in Louisville. Temperatures on Sunday are expected to reach between 82 and 87 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

According to the weather service, rain will begin developing Monday, mainly along and west of Interstate 65, where there’s a 40% chance of showers and isolated storms. Highs will be slightly cooler, ranging from 77 to 82 degrees.

By Tuesday, the region is forecast to see widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms, with highs near 74 to 79 degrees. Rain totals through Tuesday night could reach 0.5 to 1 inch, with a few areas seeing slightly more by midweek.

Cooler and less humid air is expected to arrive by Wednesday, bringing a more fall-like feel to the remainder of the week.
