LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – A gray, damp morning settled across the Ohio Valley Friday as drizzle and fog wrapped highways from Louisville to Elizabethtown, dimming headlights and coating pavement in a fine sheen. The day begins under a Hazardous Weather Outlook, with the National Weather Service warning of reduced visibility and steady showers through the afternoon and evening.

According to the National Weather Service Louisville office, a cold front sweeping through central Kentucky will bring scattered thunderstorms and steady rainfall into Friday night. Most areas will see between a quarter and half inch of rain before drier air moves in early Saturday. A few storms south of I-64 could bring gusty winds, but severe weather risk remains low. Motorists are urged to slow down and allow extra space, especially during the evening commute when roads will be slick and fog may redevelop.

By Saturday morning, the front clears the region, leaving behind cooler, calmer air and bright sunshine. Highs in the upper 50s will make for an ideal weekend stretch for errands, outdoor chores, or early Thanksgiving travel.

Nationally, meteorologists continue to monitor a potential heavy snow corridor building across the northern Plains and Great Lakes between November 25 and December 3, with 3–8 inches possible in parts of the upper Midwest. As that system expands east, colder air will spread across much of the U.S., including the Ohio Valley. For Kentucky, Thanksgiving looks dry and seasonably cool — crisp enough for a jacket but perfect for travel.
