Louisville, Kentucky – Cold temperatures and intermittent flurry chances will continue across the Louisville area this week, according to the National Weather Service.
Early Tuesday morning conditions at Bowman Field Airport showed temperatures near 23°F, with wind chills around 14°F under overcast skies. Northwest winds around 6 mph contributed to the cold feel, especially during early commute hours.
The National Weather Service forecast indicates a chance of flurries through Tuesday morning, though no accumulation is expected. Daytime highs on Tuesday are forecast to reach around 31°F, with wind chills dipping as low as 10°F during the morning hours.
Temperatures will begin a gradual warming trend midweek. Highs are expected to reach near 39°F on Wednesday, with overnight lows remaining below freezing around 28°F. Skies will be mostly cloudy to partly cloudy, limiting any significant weather impacts.
By New Year’s Day, conditions improve with mostly sunny skies and highs near 38°F, marking a modest rebound from early-week cold. Overnight lows will continue to hover near 28°F, maintaining freezing conditions during nighttime and early morning hours.
Further warming is forecast late week, with highs climbing to around 46°F on Friday. A 20 percent chance of light showers is possible Friday night, though no wintry precipitation is currently expected.
No winter storm watches or warnings are in effect at this time, and spotter activation is not anticipated.
