Louisville, Kentucky – Cloudy skies and cold temperatures are settling across central Kentucky today, with a few light flurries possible this morning but no significant accumulation expected, according to the National Weather Service in Louisville.

The National Weather Service said increased cloud cover will dominate the region throughout the day, although occasional breaks of sunshine may develop. Morning temperatures are hovering near the low 30s across much of the Bluegrass region, including Louisville, Lexington, Frankfort, and surrounding communities.

A few flurries are possible during the morning hours, particularly across the Bluegrass region, but forecasters emphasized that any snowfall will be light and brief. No measurable accumulation is expected, and impacts are expected to remain minimal.

Despite the lack of accumulation, motorists traveling along Interstate 64, Interstate 65, Interstate 75, and nearby roadways should remain alert for isolated slick spots, especially on bridges and overpasses during the colder morning hours.

High temperatures today are expected to range from the low to mid-30s across northern Kentucky to near 40 degrees farther south, including areas around Elizabethtown and Bowling Green. Winds are expected to remain light, limiting additional weather impacts.

Looking ahead, the National Weather Service said warmer and mostly dry conditions are expected to develop through mid-week. Temperatures are forecast to climb into the 50s and potentially near 60 degrees by Tuesday and Wednesday across parts of southern and central Kentucky.

A chance for rain may return to the region later in the week as cloud cover increases again. No winter weather hazards were indicated beyond this morning’s flurry potential.

For commuters, students, and early-shift workers, the cold morning temperatures may be the primary concern before conditions moderate later in the day.

Residents are encouraged to monitor official updates from the National Weather Service Louisville office as conditions evolve through the week.
