Louisville, Kentucky – Dry and mild conditions will continue through Friday before up to 1.25 inches of rain move into the I-65 corridor this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, near-normal temperatures and dry weather will persist through the end of the work week. Highs today and Thursday are forecast between 44 and 50 degrees, with Friday warming into the upper 40s to mid-50s.

Patchy fog is possible early this morning, and forecasters note that patchy ice could develop on roadways in southern Indiana and northern Kentucky where overnight temperatures dip near freezing.

A low-pressure system is expected to move over Tennessee this weekend, bringing moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall to much of Kentucky. Rainfall totals between 0.5 and 1.25 inches are forecast, with the heaviest amounts expected Sunday.

Drivers along Interstate 65 from Louisville to Bowling Green, Interstate 64 toward Lexington, and U.S. Route 421 near Madison, Indiana, should prepare for wet pavement and reduced visibility during periods of steadier rain.

Forecast data show precipitation increasing Saturday and continuing into Sunday before tapering late Sunday night. While widespread flooding is not currently forecast, localized ponding in low-lying areas is possible where heavier rainfall occurs.

Temperatures will remain mild through the weekend, limiting concerns for wintry precipitation.

Commuters, weekend travelers, and outdoor event planners should monitor forecast updates as rainfall timing and totals are refined.
