Louisville, Kentucky – A passing weather system will bring limited rain chances to southern Kentucky late Friday night into early Saturday, while much of the region remains dry with seasonal early January temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, the system moving through the Tennessee Valley may bring light rain to areas mainly south of Louisville overnight Friday into Saturday morning. Locations farther north are expected to see little to no impact from the system.
Outside of this brief window, dry weather is forecast to dominate the weekend across central Kentucky and southern Indiana. Daytime highs are expected to remain seasonal, generally ranging from the upper 30s to mid-40s Saturday, with similar conditions continuing Sunday.
Forecast data shows low precipitation probabilities across most locations, with the highest chances — generally between 10 and 20 percent — confined to southern counties late Friday night and early Saturday. No winter precipitation or hazardous weather was indicated in the outlook.
Looking ahead, the National Weather Service notes a warming trend developing by the middle to latter part of next week. High temperatures are expected to rise into the 50s and potentially low 60s as milder air moves into the region, along with increasing chances for precipitation.
The quiet weekend pattern may benefit travelers, outdoor plans, and commuters before more active weather returns next week.
