Kentucky – The air feels warm and slightly sticky across Louisville this afternoon, with clouds thickening and a light breeze pushing across the Ohio River. Conditions remain calm for now, but storm chances are beginning to build.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected today with a 50 percent chance of rain, mainly developing through the afternoon. While severe weather is not expected, some storms could produce gusty winds and brief downpours.

Across Jefferson County and into southern Indiana, drivers along I-65, I-64, and I-71 should stay alert for quick weather changes. Rain may fall suddenly, creating slick roads and lowering visibility during peak travel hours. Plan extra time and avoid sudden lane changes.

A quieter stretch arrives Tuesday with only a slight chance of storms and highs climbing near 87°F. That warmth will help recharge the atmosphere ahead of the next system.

By Wednesday, a 20 percent chance of showers returns, but the more organized round arrives Thursday. Rain chances jump to 70 percent, with showers and thunderstorms likely through the afternoon and evening. Repeated rainfall could lead to ponding on low-lying roads.

Meteorologists are monitoring this pattern closely as multiple systems move through the Ohio Valley. Conditions may shift quickly once storms develop, especially later in the week. Keep alerts enabled and check updates before heading out.
