LOUISVILLE, KY – The National Weather Service in Louisville reports that a fast-moving Alberta Clipper system will bring a swath of accumulating snow across Kentucky and southern Indiana beginning tonight and lasting into Friday morning.

Most locations can expect 1 to 4 inches of snow, with the heaviest totals north of I-64 — particularly around Louisville, Seymour, and Bloomington — where localized amounts up to 5 inches are possible.

Areas south of I-64, including Elizabethtown and Bowling Green, will likely see lighter accumulations, generally under an inch.

The most impactful snowfall is expected between 7 PM Thursday and 7 AM Friday, mainly avoiding the evening and morning commutes but potentially leaving slick roads for early travelers.

Uncertainty remains with the southern extent of the snow band, meaning totals could fluctuate depending on the exact storm track.

Motorists are advised to use caution, reduce speed, and check local road conditions before traveling Friday morning.
