Louisville, KY – After several mild days, Kentucky is in for a dramatic weather shift heading into the weekend. The National Weather Service in Louisville reports that temperatures will hold in the upper 60s to low 70s through Friday before a strong cold front sweeps across the state, bringing showers and a few strong storms Friday afternoon and evening.
Following the front, Saturday will bring partly cloudy skies and cooler, breezy conditions. By Sunday, a surge of cold air will drop temperatures into the mid-40s to upper 40s, with rain showers and a possible mix of snow expected across parts of the region.
Forecasters caution that while accumulating snow is not certain, colder air and wet conditions could lead to slick spots early next week. The sharp temperature swing marks the region’s first hint of winter after a stretch of unseasonably warm November weather.
Residents are advised to stay weather-aware Friday for potential strong storms and prepare for much colder temperatures by late weekend.
