Louisville, Kentucky – Severe storms could sweep across Kentucky early Tuesday, bringing the threat of damaging winds, heavy rain, and isolated flash flooding to much of the state.

According to the National Weather Service Louisville, conditions will stay mostly clear and dry tonight, with lows between 62 and 68 degrees. However, a significant pattern shift begins Tuesday morning as scattered strong to severe storms develop, particularly across central and northern Kentucky. Temperatures will climb into the 80s before storms are expected to move through.

Cities including Louisville, Lexington, and Elizabethtown could see impacts during the morning commute. Strong wind gusts, brief heavy downpours, and frequent lightning are the main concerns. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. Travel may become hazardous on major routes like I-65 and I-64 during storms.

Showers and strong storms will remain a daily threat through at least Thursday, with highs staying in the upper 70s to low 80s. Lingering showers are expected Friday as the system slowly exits the region. Additional advisories or warnings may be issued as storms evolve this week.
