Louisville, Ky. – Off-and-on thunderstorms could dampen plans across central Kentucky and southern Indiana through Father’s Day weekend, with scattered showers and a few stronger storms expected by Friday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, a slow-moving weather system will bring rounds of rain and thunderstorms across the region, including cities like Louisville, Bowling Green, and Lexington. While most storms will be garden-variety, isolated cells may produce gusty winds and small hail.

Friday’s high temperatures range from 80 to 84 degrees, with storm chances peaking Saturday at 90% across the area. Cities along I-65, including Elizabethtown and Danville, should expect periods of heavy rain and possible travel delays. Tonight, rain chances dip to 40%, with lows between 67–72°F.

Storms are likely again on Sunday, especially east of I-65. Those with Father’s Day plans outdoors should monitor the radar and have a backup location. Residents are advised to avoid flooded roadways, secure outdoor furniture, and keep weather alerts enabled through the weekend.

More storm chances linger into early next week. Updates will be issued as new waves approach.
