Louisiana – A quiet start this morning gives way to sun-soaked skies and a taste of late-fall warmth across Shreveport and north Louisiana. With temperatures reaching the upper 60s by Friday, residents will enjoy one last stretch of comfortable air before a weekend system ushers in rain and cooler weather.

Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Shreveport say a weak cold front will slip into the region late Saturday, bringing 20–30% chances of light showers from the Ark-La-Tex corridor east toward Monroe. Any rainfall should stay light, but roads could turn damp and slick in shaded spots as temperatures dip Saturday night.

By Sunday, the cold air settles in fast. Gusty north winds will push afternoon highs down to near 45°F, with lows dropping into the mid-20s by early Monday — a sharp 20° plunge that will mark the coldest air so far this December.

“Layer up and secure outdoor plants or decorations,” forecasters advised, noting that frost and light freeze conditions could develop early next week.

Five-Day Outlook:

  • Friday: Sunny, high 68°F, low 45°F.
  • Saturday: 20–30% chance of showers, high 62°F, low 38°F.
  • Sunday: Sunny but cold, high 45°F, low 26°F.
  • Monday: Sunny, high 49°F, low 33°F.
  • Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, high 55°F.
