Lake Charles, La. – Central and southwest Louisiana are heading into a hot, dry weekend with temperatures pushing into the mid-90s and no rain expected through Sunday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, highs from Friday through Sunday will range from 86°F to 94°F across central Louisiana, including Alexandria, where there’s a 70% chance temperatures exceed 90°F Friday evening and again Saturday. Southeast Texas cities like Beaumont and Jasper will see highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, especially inland, while coastal areas remain slightly cooler.
Humidity will add to the discomfort, particularly during the late afternoon and evening hours. Overnight lows will stay warm and muggy in the low to mid-70s, with partly cloudy skies persisting across the region. While the skies may look stormy, rain chances will remain at or near 0% through the weekend.
Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors or pets. This marks one of the warmest stretches so far this spring, and early-season heat safety is key.
Hot, dry conditions will continue into early next week, with no rain relief expected before Monday.
