Shreveport, LA – A cool weekend is on the horizon for Louisiana, but snow flurries could make an appearance early next week.

The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny skies for Saturday, with a high near 57°F. Saturday night will see temperatures drop significantly, with lows falling to around 28°F. Sunday remains sunny but colder, with daytime highs reaching just 40°F, followed by a bitter low of 21°F overnight.

By Martin Luther King Day, temperatures will hover near 37°F with mostly sunny skies during the day. A 20% chance of snow showers begins Monday night as another cold front moves into the region. The chance of snow increases to 30% on Tuesday, primarily before noon, as high temperatures remain near 37°F.

Residents and travelers in the Shreveport area should prepare for possible icy conditions early next week, particularly on Tuesday morning when precipitation could impact roadways. Drivers are urged to monitor weather updates and use caution during any potential winter weather.

This weekend is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors before the colder air and snow chances arrive early next week.
