Shreveport, Louisiana – Patchy fog this morning in Shreveport could give way to mostly sunny skies and near-summer heat before a round of thunderstorms targets the area midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, Monday and Tuesday will stay mostly dry and hot, with highs near 89°F and 87°F respectively. However, showers and thunderstorms could move in after 1 p.m. Wednesday, with a 40% chance of rain growing to 50% overnight into Thursday. Light winds from the south at 5 to 15 mph are expected to persist through early week, shifting slightly as storms approach.

Residents across Caddo and Bossier Parishes should prepare for brief periods of heavy rain, possible lightning, and gusty winds Wednesday through Thursday. Travel may be affected, particularly during the morning and evening commute hours. Drivers are advised to slow down during heavy downpours and allow extra travel time. It’s also a good idea to check flashlights, weather radios, and mobile devices in case of power outages.

This midweek system marks one of the first significant storm threats for Shreveport this spring, resembling similar late-April patterns from recent years. Thunderstorm chances could linger into Thursday evening before skies begin to clear Friday.

Additional updates and any watches or warnings will be issued as conditions develop.
