Shreveport, LA – A round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to sweep across northwest Louisiana late Tuesday night, bringing increased rainfall chances to Shreveport and surrounding areas in the ArkLaTex region.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, storms will arrive from the northwest after midnight and move southeast through the early morning hours Wednesday. Rainfall probabilities are highest north of Interstate 30, where cities like De Queen and Idabel could see chances as high as 60%. Areas farther south, including Shreveport, Natchitoches, and Center, TX, have lower chances ranging from 10% to 30%.

Overnight temperatures will remain mild across the region, with lows between the mid-50s and lower 60s. Cloud cover will increase through the evening, setting the stage for unsettled weather overnight.

Travelers and early commuters are urged to exercise caution, especially in areas with higher rainfall probabilities. Wet roads and reduced visibility could affect morning traffic, particularly along highways from Texarkana to Monroe.

Residents should monitor local forecasts and stay alert for any updated advisories. The weather service encourages preparedness ahead of potential thunderstorms and recommends securing outdoor items that could be impacted by wind or rain.
