Lake Charles, LA – Southeast Texas and much of central and southwest Louisiana will stay hot and mostly dry through midweek, but forecasters warn rain chances will rise as the week progresses.
According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Tuesday and Wednesday will bring warm, dry conditions with high temperatures reaching between 88 and 94 degrees. Rain chances during this stretch remain at zero.
By Thursday, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to return, with forecasters giving a 20 to 40 percent chance of rain across the region. Highs will remain near 90 degrees, with nighttime lows in the mid-60s to lower 70s.
Rain chances linger Friday and Saturday, though at lower levels—between 10 and 30 percent, depending on location. While no severe weather is currently anticipated, forecasters caution that any storms could bring brief downpours and lightning hazards, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
The outlook shows the region settling into a more unsettled pattern heading into the weekend and early next week, following several days of unseasonably hot and dry weather.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts for potential impacts to outdoor plans late this week.
