According to the National Weather Service, Saturday’s high temperature will reach 96°F under sunny skies. Winds will remain light, but the heat index will create dangerous conditions from noon through late afternoon. Residents are urged to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Drivers on I-20 and LA-3132 should remain alert for heat-related vehicle issues, including tire blowouts and engine strain.

Sunday brings a similar pattern: sunny skies, a high near 96°F, and heat building after 1 p.m. A slight chance of thunderstorms returns Sunday evening, with isolated showers possible in Caddo and Bossier parishes.

The heat persists into next week. Monday and Tuesday both see highs near 96°F, with a 30% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. These storms may offer brief relief, but humidity will remain high.

By Wednesday, Shreveport could see temperatures approach 97°F, making this one of the hottest stretches of the summer so far.
