Louisiana – Bright sun and warming air are already pushing temperatures into the mid-80s across northwest Louisiana, giving Shreveport a summer-like feel early today. Light winds keep conditions calm for now, but a shift is coming as storm chances build later this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, highs will reach 85°F today with mostly sunny skies and light south winds around 5 to 10 mph. That quiet pattern continues into Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures climbing to 86–87°F under partly sunny skies.

For now, travel across I-20 and I-49 remains smooth with dry pavement and good visibility. It’s a good window to handle outdoor plans or early spring travel. Still, warmer air and increasing moisture are setting the stage for change.

By Thursday afternoon, scattered thunderstorms begin to develop, with rain chances rising to 60 percent. Storms may intensify after 1 p.m., bringing brief downpours and lightning that could slow traffic across Shreveport and Bossier City. Keep an umbrella nearby and plan extra time for the evening drive.

Storm chances continue into Thursday night and Friday, with additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms possible. Rain coverage stays more scattered Friday, but wet roads and reduced visibility could linger during peak travel times.

Looking ahead, early April trends warmer than normal, but the active spring pattern remains in place. More updates are likely as storms approach.
