Lake Charles, LA – Rain is finally making a return across Louisiana and Southeast Texas, bringing much-needed relief to drought conditions but also increasing storm chances through the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, today will remain mostly dry with highs in the low 80s and only a 0% to 20% chance of rain. That changes quickly starting Monday, when storm chances increase to 10% to 40% across the region.
By midweek, rain and thunderstorm coverage becomes more consistent. Cities including Lake Charles, Lafayette, Beaumont, and Port Arthur will see daily chances of storms, with probabilities rising to 30% to 50% by Thursday.
Travel along I-10 and U.S. 90 could be impacted by brief heavy downpours, lightning, and slick road conditions during afternoon and evening storms. While widespread severe weather is not expected, isolated stronger storms could still produce gusty winds.
Residents should prepare for daily rain chances, keep devices charged in case of lightning-related outages, and remain weather-aware during peak storm hours. Additional updates are likely as rainfall coverage increases.
