Shreveport, Louisiana – Warm, summer-like air is pushing temperatures into the mid-80s across north Louisiana by early afternoon Monday, with isolated showers capable of briefly slowing travel along the I-20 corridor before sunset.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, highs will climb into the lower to middle 80s across the ArkLaTex, with peak heating occurring between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. A few stray showers may develop during that same window, mainly across northern Louisiana, southern Arkansas, and northeast Texas.
Cities including Shreveport, Bossier City, and Monroe will see the warmest conditions, with temperatures reaching 83 to 86 degrees. While widespread rain is not expected, any isolated shower could reduce visibility and create slick spots on roadways like I-20, U.S. 71, and Highway 165 during peak travel hours.
Overnight, temperatures will fall into the upper 50s to lower 60s, offering a brief cooldown before another warm day builds in. Sunday is expected to bring continued warmth, with highs again pushing into the upper 70s and lower 80s across the region.
Residents should stay hydrated, avoid leaving pets or children in vehicles, and remain alert for brief downpours during the late afternoon commute. Additional updates may follow if shower coverage increases.
