Shreveport, Louisiana – Mild but increasingly unsettled weather is moving into East Texas Tuesday night, with rain and storm chances ramping up after 10 p.m., especially south of Interstate 20. Cities like Lufkin and Nacogdoches could see isolated thunderstorms overnight as temperatures remain warm and humid, dipping only into the upper 60s.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, isolated to scattered showers are expected to develop late across portions of East Texas, with the highest rain chances—up to 40%—centered near Lufkin, Center, and Mount Enterprise. Areas farther north, including Texarkana and Shreveport, have only a 10% risk of rain through the night.
Humidity levels remain elevated, with low temperatures ranging from 65°F in Idabel and Longview to 70°F in Jasper and Many. The damp air may lead to patchy fog in rural areas by early morning.
Residents should stay alert for brief downpours or rumbles of thunder and avoid unnecessary travel if storms develop. Charge electronic devices and secure outdoor items in case of gusty winds or lightning.
Showers may linger into early Wednesday, especially across deep East Texas. More widespread rain is possible later this week.
