Plaquemine, Louisiana – Thunderstorms will slam into Iberville Parish by midday Friday, July 25, as a slow-moving front triggers widespread downpours across southern Louisiana.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances surge to 90% by Friday afternoon, with storms likely between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Some cells may produce heavy rainfall, dropping between 1 and 2 inches. Wind gusts and localized flooding could impact travel, especially along LA-1 through Plaquemine and other low-lying routes. Storm activity may persist into Friday night before tapering off.

More rounds of rain are expected Saturday, with thunderstorms most likely between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Highs will hover around 90°F, and southerly winds will keep humidity levels oppressive.
