Shreveport, Louisiana – Triple-digit heat returns to northwestern Louisiana as temperatures soar in Shreveport on Sunday, July 20th — and it’s just the beginning of a dangerously hot stretch.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, Sunday’s high will climb near 98°F with heat index values peaking around 107°F by late afternoon. Southwest winds of 5–10 mph will offer little relief, and I-20 and I-49 travelers are urged to hydrate, limit time outside vehicles, and watch for signs of heat exhaustion.

Expect mostly clear skies Sunday night with lows dipping only to 77°F, offering little overnight cooling. Monday brings more oppressive heat with highs near 99°F and near-record heat indices continuing through at least Wednesday.

What’s Ahead for Shreveport (July 20–25):

  • Sunday: Sunny and hot. High near 98°F. Heat index up to 107°F.
  • Monday: High of 99°F with mostly clear skies.
  • Tuesday: Heat intensifies with highs near 99°F again. Mostly sunny and dry.
