Shreveport, Louisiana – Severe thunderstorms are expected to roll into the Four State Region Sunday afternoon, bringing a heightened threat of flash flooding and damaging winds across parts of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, storms will develop north of I-20—especially in southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas—by late afternoon and continue into the overnight hours. A Level 2 (Slight Risk) has been issued for these areas, with the potential for large hail, strong wind gusts, and torrential rain.

Cities including Texarkana, Longview, and El Dorado could see localized flooding as rainfall overwhelms poor drainage areas and low-water crossings. Power outages and travel disruptions are also possible, particularly along U.S. highways and rural routes in the moderate risk zone.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, avoid flood-prone roads, and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. If driving after dark, use caution on unfamiliar or rural roads where water may accumulate quickly.

Storm activity is expected to taper off by early Monday, but additional advisories could be issued if rainfall intensifies or storms persist overnight.
