Shreveport, Louisiana – Damaging winds and large hail could batter parts of northern Louisiana through Saturday night as two rounds of severe thunderstorms threaten the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, a Level 2 out of 5 severe risk is in place for both Friday and Saturday, with storms most likely in the afternoon and evening hours. The threat zone includes Shreveport, Bossier City, Ruston, and Monroe, where isolated tornadoes may also develop.

On Friday, storms will mainly target northwest Louisiana and northeast Texas, while Saturday’s activity could extend farther east, bringing heavy rain and possible flooding. The storms may intensify during the late afternoon and early evening, before tapering off overnight.

Residents are urged to stay weather-aware, especially those in the slight risk area, and have multiple ways to receive warnings. Charge phones in advance, secure outdoor items, and avoid travel during severe weather periods.

This is a multi-day threat, and more advisories could be issued if the storm system strengthens. Updates will be posted regularly by the National Weather Service at weather.gov/shv.
