Shreveport, Louisiana – Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to hammer parts of the Ark-La-Tex through Tuesday night, with damaging winds, large hail, and a chance for isolated tornadoes threatening travel and power in northwestern Louisiana and surrounding regions.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, a Level 3 out of 5 enhanced risk is in effect for Monday across areas including Texarkana, Ruston, and Natchitoches. Storms will develop during the late afternoon and continue into the early morning hours Tuesday. The risk drops slightly to a Level 2 on Tuesday, but severe conditions are still possible, especially in central and eastern Louisiana.

Cities such as Shreveport, Monroe, and Ruston could see wind gusts exceeding 60 mph, with scattered tree damage and power outages possible. Monday’s storms may also bring isolated tornadoes and hail up to quarter size. Drivers should avoid travel during peak storm hours and secure outdoor items that could become projectiles in strong winds.

The threat extends into parts of Arkansas, Texas, and Mississippi, with Tuesday’s storms shifting eastward. Residents are urged to monitor local alerts and have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Severe weather watches may be issued through Tuesday evening as storm chances persist.
