Shreveport, LA – Spring may have arrived, but Louisiana residents should prepare for an unsettled stretch of wet weather through the end of the week.

According to the National Weather Service, Shreveport and nearby I-20 communities will see a 20% chance of showers by Wednesday afternoon, increasing to a 60% chance of thunderstorms by early Friday morning. Residents are advised to monitor local alerts, especially as rain and thunderstorms could disrupt evening travel and early commutes late in the week.

Wednesday begins mild, with partly sunny skies and highs near 77°F, but southeast winds will push moisture into the area overnight. Thursday brings another warm day with highs in the low 80s, though clouds increase with storm chances growing Thursday night. Overnight lows will hover in the 60s throughout the week.

The most active period arrives late Thursday into Friday when showers and thunderstorms may develop along I-20, potentially affecting Shreveport’s morning commute. Friday’s high is forecast near 74°F under mostly cloudy skies.

The weekend remains unsettled with a 30-40% chance of rain Saturday and Sunday. However, drier conditions may return early next week, with Monday currently expected to be partly sunny with a high near 77°F.
