SHREVEPORT, La. – Tropical moisture moving north from the Gulf of America is set to drench much of northern Louisiana and southern Arkansas through Tuesday, with the heaviest rain expected across the Four State Region. The National Weather Service in Shreveport reports that areas including Shreveport, Monroe, and El Dorado could see steady rainfall, with probabilities exceeding 70% for at least a tenth of an inch and up to 60% for heavier totals near half an inch.

According to the National Weather Service, the most persistent showers are likely to develop Monday afternoon and continue through Tuesday evening as warm, humid air from the Gulf interacts with a lingering frontal boundary. Rainfall could lead to ponding on roads and minor flooding in low-lying areas, especially along I-20 and rural highways.

Residents are advised to slow down during commutes, avoid flooded roadways, and check for potential flash flood alerts as conditions evolve. Power outages are not expected to be widespread, but localized interruptions are possible where heavier downpours occur.

Rain chances are expected to taper off by midweek, with drier air moving in from the west by Wednesday night.
