Iowa, LA – A 53-year-old Jennings woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 10 frontage road in Jefferson Davis Parish.

According to Louisiana State Police, troopers from Troop D responded around 1 p.m. to the crash site just east of U.S. Highway 165. The victim, identified as Bonnie Fontenot, had previously been reported missing by the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Fontenot was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling along the I-10 frontage road. The driver allegedly fled the scene after the collision. Troopers confirmed Fontenot sustained fatal injuries and died before emergency crews arrived.
