David Voorhies of Woodville, Mississippi, was riding a 2008 Honda motorcycle north on the highway when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control and collided with a cattle gate. The crash occurred just south of Louisiana Highway 2, shortly before 3:00 p.m.
