Jackson, Mississippi – Temperatures across Mississippi and parts of northeast Louisiana could feel as hot as 110°F Friday, with a heat advisory in effect until 8 p.m. CDT. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity and stay hydrated as oppressive humidity combines with near-record highs.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, areas under the advisory include central, south-central, and northeast Mississippi, as well as several parishes in Louisiana. Cities affected include Jackson, Meridian, Starkville, Vicksburg, and Natchez. Heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and stroke are possible, particularly for vulnerable populations and outdoor workers.
