Shreveport, LA – Louisiana is facing a relentless heatwave this week, with temperatures soaring into the triple digits. Shreveport and surrounding areas are expected to see highs reaching up to 101°F on Wednesday, as part of a broader heatwave affecting the entire Four-State Region.
According to the US National Weather Service in Shreveport, the heat will persist throughout the week, with temperatures consistently hovering around the upper 90s to 100°F. The forecast for Tuesday indicates a high of 98°F, with even hotter conditions expected on Wednesday, peaking at 101°F. Thursday and Friday will offer little relief, with predicted highs of 99°F and 98°F, respectively.
Residents are urged to take necessary precautions to stay cool and hydrated during this period of extreme heat. The National Weather Service has highlighted the risk of heat-related illnesses, particularly for vulnerable populations. Staying indoors during peak afternoon hours, drinking plenty of fluids, and avoiding strenuous outdoor activities are recommended to mitigate the impact of the heat.
As the weekend approaches, temperatures may slightly decrease, with Saturday’s high expected to reach 95°F and Sunday’s high dropping to 94°F. However, the region will still experience above-average temperatures for this time of year.
