Shreveport, LA – An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect across the ArkLaTex region, with dangerously high temperatures forecasted for the coming days. The National Weather Service in Shreveport issued the warning, urging residents to take precautions as heat indices are expected to soar above 110 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s high will reach 99°F with heat indices potentially surpassing 110°F, posing a significant risk for heat-related illnesses. The oppressive heat will continue throughout the weekend, with Sunday’s high expected to peak at 102°F. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are likely with prolonged exposure to these extreme conditions.

The excessive heat is projected to linger into early next week, with Monday’s high of 98°F offering little relief. By Tuesday, temperatures may start to decrease slightly, with highs in the lower 90s, but heat safety precautions remain necessary. Midweek, temperatures are expected to drop further, with highs in the low 90s on Wednesday and Thursday.
