Shreveport, LA – The heat is on in Louisiana as high temperatures continue to dominate the region. Shreveport and surrounding areas are set to experience sweltering conditions, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 90s throughout the weekend and into next week. Despite a recent cool front, these high temperatures persist, making outdoor activities challenging and increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Shreveport, today’s forecast shows temperatures reaching up to 96°F, with only slight chances of rain providing minimal relief. The heatwave is expected to extend through the week, with daily highs hovering between 95°F and 99°F. Residents in central Louisiana and deep East Texas should remain cautious, particularly during peak heat hours in the afternoon.

Looking ahead, the extended forecast shows a continuation of these high temperatures. Sunday and Monday will see highs of 95°F and 97°F, respectively. The heat will intensify midweek, with temperatures peaking at 99°F on Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday, the forecast predicts a slight dip to 96°F, but temperatures will remain uncomfortably high through the weekend.
