Shreveport, LA – Valentine’s Day plans may be disrupted as storms are set to hit the Shreveport area Friday evening. Heavy rain, strong winds, and potential thunderstorms could make travel hazardous, especially on I-20 and surrounding roads.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will start with mild conditions and a high near 56°F before storms move in late at night. A 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected, with gusty winds up to 20 mph. Some storms could become severe, bringing the risk of localized flooding.
Saturday remains unsettled with a 90% chance of rain and a high near 73°F. Storms may continue through early Saturday before tapering off into the evening. Sunday will bring a return to sunshine, with temperatures cooling to 48°F.
Residents are urged to stay weather-aware and monitor local updates. If traveling Friday night, allow extra time and be cautious of slick roads. Valentine’s Day diners may want to consider indoor plans as the storms roll through.
