Shreveport, LA – The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Frost Advisory for parts of southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana, in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. CST Monday.

According to the NWS, temperatures are expected to dip to around 34 degrees, leading to frost development overnight. The advisory includes counties and parishes such as Howard, Hempstead, Nevada, Columbia, and Union in Arkansas, along with Claiborne, Lincoln, Jackson, Ouachita, and Caldwell in Louisiana.

Forecasters warn that frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if not protected. Residents are urged to cover tender plants or bring them indoors before the chill sets in.

This frost event marks one of the first widespread cold snaps of the fall season for the Ark-La region. Skies are expected to remain mostly clear overnight, allowing temperatures to drop sharply before sunrise.

Temperatures should rebound into the 50s and lower 60s by late morning Monday, ending the frost threat.

Motorists in rural areas are also advised to watch for frosty windshields and reduced visibility early Monday.
