Shreveport, LA – Residents across the Ark-La-Tex region should prepare for another round of freezing temperatures tonight into Tuesday morning, with conditions dipping below 32°F across wide portions of the area.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, freezing temperatures are expected across southeast Oklahoma, southwest Arkansas, much of north Louisiana, and parts of extreme eastern Texas. The coldest readings are likely in rural and low-lying areas, where frost and freeze conditions could damage sensitive vegetation.

The NWS reminds residents to follow the “Four P’s” of cold weather safety: protect People, Pets, Plants, and Pipes. Ensure adequate heating indoors, bring pets inside, cover or move delicate plants, and wrap exposed outdoor pipes to prevent damage from the cold.

Temperatures are forecast to rebound slightly by midweek, but another round of chilly nights remains possible later in the week. Forecasters advise monitoring local weather updates for any extended freeze warnings or advisories.

Drivers are also encouraged to use caution early Tuesday, as patchy frost could form on bridges and overpasses during the morning commute.
