Shreveport, LA – Flood warnings remain in effect for several rivers across Louisiana and Texas, with minor to moderate flooding forecasted through the week. Key rivers affected include the Ouachita River, Lake Fork Creek, and Little Cypress Bayou.

The Ouachita River at Felsenthal Lock and Dam is expected to rise above flood stage, reaching a crest of 82 feet by Saturday, April 19, impacting Union and Ashley Counties. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of moderate flooding, urging residents to avoid driving through flooded areas.

Meanwhile, in Texas, the Sabine River near Gladewater continues to show minor flooding, with the river cresting at 31.2 feet by Saturday morning. Lowland flooding and secondary road closures are anticipated, with the NWS advising farmers and ranchers to move livestock and equipment to higher ground.

Flooding in Louisiana’s Little River near Rochelle is forecast to reach minor flooding levels, with the river cresting at 32.5 feet by Thursday. Residents near Bayou Dorcheat are also facing minor flooding conditions.

The NWS urges residents to remain vigilant and heed all warnings, as heavy rainfall may lead to additional rises in river levels.
