Loudoun County, VA – A Seneca Ridge Middle School teacher assistant was arrested this week after allegedly being intoxicated while on campus, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

The sheriff’s office said the incident occurred around 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. A School Resource Officer at Seneca Ridge Middle School was alerted that the staff member, identified as Brenda Maxwell, 44, of Chantilly, may have been under the influence while at work.

According to LCSO, an investigation was immediately launched, and the findings led to Maxwell’s arrest for Intoxication in Public. She was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and later released on her own recognizance.

Authorities did not report any injuries or disruptions to students during the incident. The school district has not yet commented on whether disciplinary action will follow.

The sheriff’s office continues to review the matter, and no further details were immediately released as of Thursday morning.
