Los Angeles, CA – The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a Freeze Warning for several inland areas of Southern California, including the Antelope Valley, Southern Salinas Valley, and interior San Luis Obispo County valleys. The warning is in effect from midnight to 8 a.m. Thursday.

Forecasters expect temperatures to fall as low as 25°F in the Antelope Valley and around 28°F in parts of the Salinas and San Luis Obispo County valleys. These subfreezing conditions could kill sensitive plants and crops and damage exposed outdoor plumbing.

Residents in areas such as Palmdale, Lancaster, Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero, and San Miguel should take precautions to protect vegetation, outdoor pipes, and pets. Cover exposed faucets, wrap pipes, and bring animals indoors where possible.

Officials recommend that growers and property owners harvest or cover vulnerable crops, while homeowners should ensure space heaters are used safely to avoid fire hazards.

Temperatures are expected to gradually rise after sunrise Thursday, bringing some relief from the cold.
