Lancaster, CA – A Frost Advisory has been issued for the Antelope Valley from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday, as forecasters warn of freezing temperatures and frost formation that could harm sensitive vegetation across the high desert region.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, overnight temperatures are expected to fall to around 32°F, with localized lows in the upper 20s possible in sheltered or low-lying areas. The advisory includes Lancaster, Palmdale, and Lake Los Angeles.

The frost risk will be highest just before sunrise Wednesday, when skies remain mostly clear and winds calm—ideal conditions for rapid cooling. Forecasters warn that unprotected plants could be damaged or killed, and outdoor water pipes may need insulation to prevent freezing.

Residents are advised to cover sensitive plants, bring pets indoors, and avoid leaving sprinklers on overnight. Motorists may also encounter light frost on windshields during early morning commutes.

Temperatures are expected to warm back into the upper 50s to low 60s by Wednesday afternoon, with a gradual return to milder overnight lows later in the week.
