Lombard, Illinois — On July 22, the Village of Lombard shared updates on its St. Charles Crosswalk Improvements.
The crosswalk improvement project is one of several along St. Charles Road. At the intersection of St. Charles Road and Park Avenue, the Village will install Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS). Work on this project began today, July 23, and is expected to continue over the next two weeks.
No road closures or detours will be necessary at this time. However, adjacent parking spaces may be temporarily unavailable as crews use those spaces for work. As needed, arrow boards and flaggers will direct traffic around any concrete trucks.
The St. Charles Crosswalk Improvement is the final improvement in the Village’s commitment to pedestrian safety and accessibility for all pedestrians.
