Lombard, IL: Fire Engulfs Three Semi-Trucks Causing $120,000 in Damages near Route 53

Lombard, IL – A significant vehicle fire erupted in Lombard on Thursday evening, resulting in extensive damage but no injuries. The Lombard Fire Department responded to reports of heavy black smoke near North Avenue and Route 53 at approximately 8:52 p.m.

According to the Village of Lombard’s municipal release, fire crews arrived on the scene at 8:57 p.m. to find three semi-trucks fully engulfed in flames at the 1000 block of N. Rohlwing Road.

Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles and equipment. The quick and effective response brought the fire under control within 25 minutes.

There were no injuries reported among civilians or firefighters. However, the fire caused substantial financial damage, estimated between $115,000 and $120,000. The Lombard Fire Investigations Unit is actively investigating the cause of the fire.
