Lombard, IL – The Lombard Fire Department’s annual Toy Drive officially kicks off today, giving residents across DuPage County an opportunity to support local children and families heading into the holiday season. Donations will be accepted through Thursday, December 12.

According to the Village of Lombard, the drive is seeking new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0–14 as well as essential baby supplies. This year’s donations will benefit Teen Parent Connection and Toy Express, two regional programs that distribute gifts to families in need.

Donations can be dropped off at several sites throughout the village, including Lombard Fire Stations 44 and 45, Lombard Village Hall, Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, Madison Meadow Athletic Center, Helen Plum Library, Lombard Ace Hardware, Clark Orthodontics, ThomKat Boutique, Brust Funeral Home, Representative Margaret DeLaRosa’s Office, and Yorktown Mall.

The Village is also reminding residents to mark their calendars for the annual Toy Parade, scheduled for Saturday, December 13. The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Fire Station 45 and will travel south on Main Street toward Glenbard East High School. Residents are encouraged to bring their toy donations directly to the parade route, where firefighters will collect them along the way.

Organizers say the event remains one of the community’s most impactful holiday traditions, helping hundreds of children each year.

Residents who’ve participated in past drives say the parade serves as both a celebration and a reminder of how local support can make a meaningful difference for families during the holiday season.
