Lombard, IL – Lombard Public Works will begin its annual hydrant maintenance program on Monday, April 7, 2025, with crews servicing more than 1,000 hydrants over the course of four weeks. The work will take place during late afternoon and early evening hours, ensuring that there will be no disruption to the community’s water service.
According to the village, hydrant flushing is typically done twice a year, in both the spring and fall. This program is part of routine maintenance to ensure that the hydrants are working properly and ready for use in the event of a fire emergency.
The maintenance work will take place throughout Lombard, and residents are advised that crews will focus on different areas each week. Residents may notice water flushing from hydrants, but this will not affect their daily water usage.
For more information, residents can visit the Village of Lombard’s website to view the full schedule of hydrant flushing activities.
