Bellefontaine, OH – A Logan County man has been sentenced to a mandatory term of 30 years to life following a joint FBI and county investigation into alleged child exploitation offenses, according to officials.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Judge Kevin P. Braig of the Logan County Court of Common Pleas issued the sentence Monday for Jeremiah Monk. The case stems from Monk’s arrest on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, after county detectives and FBI agents conducted a coordinated investigation into the alleged creation, possession, and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

Authorities said Monk was initially charged with two counts of rape involving a victim under the age of 13, three counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, two counts of rape classified as first-degree felonies, two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor (second-degree felonies), and sexual conduct with an animal, a second-degree misdemeanor.

Investigators said Monk later entered guilty pleas to two counts of rape, two counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, and one count of sexual conduct with an animal. Officials emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may still be filed as evidence continues to be reviewed.

The sheriff’s office credited its Detective Division and federal partners for their work on the case, noting that the multi-agency effort remains active.

Residents in Logan County and surrounding western Ohio communities are encouraged to report suspicious online activity involving minors to local authorities or the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center.
