Lockport, IL – Both campuses of Lockport Township High School were placed on lockdown after a swatting incident on Friday, September 27. Police received a call from a male claiming to be inside a school bathroom, armed with hostages and an AR-15 rifle. He threatened to kill everyone.

Lockport officers, along with Will County deputies, responded quickly to secure both campuses. No threat was found, and students were dismissed under extra security.

After investigating, detectives determined the call was part of a swatting hoax. The caller, a 17-year-old male from Pakistan, allegedly made multiple threats online, including a similar incident in Arizona.

According to the Lockport Police Department, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security are involved to prevent further hoaxes. Police remain vigilant, working with federal agencies to ensure no future incidents occur.

This swatting incident raises concerns about global threats impacting local schools. The investigation remains ongoing to ensure public safety.
